Student projects
We are keen to host undergraduate and postgraduate students from different disciplines and with different project durations, includingMasters by research (MRes) applications. The projects we offer are adaptable to the student’s interests/strength, ranging from data-driven work, chemical design and computational modelling/workflow development. Please get in touch with Andrew if you are interested, and we can work on tailoring the below scientific questions/problems to the length of your project to have well-defined aims and achieve your career development goals.
We are developing computational chemistry workflows for structure and property prediction (here are some example papers, with a focus on the chemistry: chemrxiv, wiley).
Some broad spaces to work in:
- Computational chemistry software development
- Web-app and database development
- Applying chemical design and high-throughput screening to supramolecular materials at different scales
- Training/benchmarking new supramolecular property prediction methods/models for host-guest chemistry design
- Mathematical representations of structure and symmetry space (see this paper for an example of how this is useful)
